There is a lot to do in the lower Saguenay region. Various activities are offered all year long.
National Du Fjord-Du-Saguenay park
Come and discover the extraordinary beauty of the Saguenay Fjord and of the National Park. Hiking trails go along both sides of the Fjord. You will see spectacular capes. Go camping, beluga watching or experience kayaking on the Fjord. One of the most exciting things to do is to walk the via ferrata, just off Cap-Éternité. Hike right up to the Notre-Dame-du-Saguenay statue.
During the winter, the National Park offers outdoor enthusiasts many different experiences.
Baie-Éternité sector : Many short distance trails are available. For longer hikes, the best choice is the Capes Trail between Rivière-Éternité and L’Anse-Saint-Jean. You will find two shelters and a rustic camp along this trail.
The Kapatakan Trail
Walk along the 215 km-long Notre-Dame-Katapakan regional hiking trail (Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean). We call it the “Little Compostelle”. It is an inspiring route where you will discover natural beauties and have time for yourself.
You will contemplate magnificent sceneries on the 215 km-long trail. The trail is divided in fourteen (14) historical sectors, starting from Notre-Dame-du-Saguenay, of Rivière-Éternité, to Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes de l’Ermitage, at Saint-Antoine of Lac-Bouchette, a national sanctuary.
Step by step, through towns and villages, on this Kapatakan – a first nation word meaning “trail” – you will discover spiritual landmarks, beautiful nature and our region’s culture.
Snowmobiles and quads
The Fjord snowmobile club
The Fjord Snowmobile Club was founded in 1992. Many local clubs merged. These clubs covered a large area including the south of the lower-Saguenay up to Saint-Siméon. Later on, the new club included the eastern part of Charlevoix – from Baie-Sainte-Catherine to Saint-Siméon – and was integrated to the club named Les Aventuriers de Charlevoix.
Our club is therefore responsible for the #383 trail – from the junction between the #83 trail up to the junction with the # 3 trail, at Baie-Sainte-Catherine, and for the trail that links Lake Basile to Anse-St-Jean.
The Fjord quand club
We are hoping quad bikers from everywhere will come and discover our network of trails. We have a lot to share with you in this vast and vibrant region.
